My very own blog
I finally decided to get my own blog as part of my new personal website. Hopefully I will keep updating it at a normal pace.
This is the first blog publishing platform I have used, and I made the decision to go with WordPress, because it is free, seems to be popular with the web design community, and it respects the web standards. So far I am very pleased with the amount of control I have over how my blog looks and functions. I am glad I have used an existing and tried platform instead of creating my own, which would have been time consuming and potentially flawed as far as security is concerned, becauce even though I am fairly comfortable with writing PHP I am definitely not an expert. I am especially impressed with how easy it was to customize the existing Wordpress template files to integrate my blog within the original design of my website.
