Unbelievable! A large number of Carl Barks’ classic Disney comics from the 50s and 60s are being sold on Amazon.com! Apparently, these stories have been reprinted in the Gladstone Comic Album Series published in the 1980s. I accidentally found them listed there while searching for something else Disney-related. I thought those comics would be out of print by now. Why, I feel like I’m 12 again!
Then I remembered those amazing one hundred or so oil paintings of the Ducks that Barks painted after he retired many years ago and I found myself in envy of those fortunate few to own a copy of the limited edition lithographs and serigraphs of those paintings. You’d be lucky to find one for sale today and you’d have to shell out a few thousand dollars to get it.
I think for now I will have to save up for those comics…
