Update on 12/4/08: the eMusic icon is now the official icon for the eMusic Download Manager! Please download at the eMusic website.

I get my music from several places: iTunes, Amazon MP3, eMusic, and, most recently, Lala.com. Oh, and the local record store. I’ve been using the Amazon MP3 and eMusic desktop clients to download my purchases, and for the longest time the application icons had been bothering me. I call this the graphic designer’s OCD. I took some time recently to make my own versions and I’m pretty happy with them so I wanted to share. The Amazon MP3 icon comes in three flavors (preview).

Let me know if you use them! By the way, Mac only I realized I included PNG versions so these may work on Windows too.

Just a quick post to point people to an applegazette article that mentions some of the upcoming features of Adobe Photoshop CS3. I’ve recently upgraded from a slow Mac mini G4 to a Mac Pro, but I can definitely tell when Rosetta is working hard to help Photoshop and Illustrator keep up with the workflow. Some really nice features mentioned. I can’t wait!

To my great pleasure and honor, two CSS gallery sites have very recently featured my webite on their pages. I was informed by email the other day of my blog being featured on CSS-MANIA, and just today I almost had a heart attack when I saw my website on CSS Thesis.

As a student, getting this kind of recognition is very important and encouraging, so thanks to those who have supported me, adviced me, voted for me, and thought of my website worthy of inclusion in the above websites. It’s really something else to see your humble effort of a website featured alongside the likes of clear:left (great site, by the way).

In other (relevant) news, the CSS Thesis folks have created gallerize, “a simple concept that grabs the latest gallery entries from various CSS galleries using their RSS feeds.” Very neat.

UPDATE (09/24/05): I made it on screenspire and Design Shack too, yay!

As a graphic design student still learning much of the basics of design, I have come to understand the importance of choosing your colors carefully, not only for pleasing the eye, but also for keeping with the universal (or not) perceptions on what different colors mean to people. Yes! Finally. Macromedia announced its new software suite today, branded Studio 8. Amusingly, and certainly not by coincidence, it has been announced on the 8th day of the 8th month of the year. A quick look on the web and on the Macromedia website leaves me with little doubt that the upgrades, new features and enhancements are spot-on and numerous, although, I will have to wait for some hands-on reviews to be completely convinced.
